Wet Hair, Handle With Care
Dec 25th 2017
Drying your wet hair can go surprisingly wrong. Check out these tips to avoid hair loss below.
- Rubbing too aggressively can lead to excessive hair breakage and hair fall. Your hair is more elastic when wet and therefore more prone to breakage and split ends.
- A gentle pat with a towel to remove moisture or air drying is the healthiest option. Blow drying is the worst since it uses excessive amounts of heat and can cause damage over time.
- The coarse texture of a terry cloth towel can pull at loose hairs. Use a microfiber fabric towel instead as its finer threads are less abrasive and better for absorbing moisture.
- Avoid wrapping wet hair for extended periods of time as the weight of the wet towel can loosen hairs from the scalp.
