• A burp cloth is designed to protect your shoulder while burping your baby. This is also to help prevent and clean vomit or any spills. Therefore you want to make sure that it is made from absorbent materials that can handle repeated washes.

• The reason why we burp babies is that they are not capable to do so themselves and otherwise get a buildup of gas that affects digestion and can lead to vomiting.

• When burping a baby it is recommended to either pat or rub their back gently as their head is lying against your shoulder and their body is in an upright position.

• Be careful to not sway your baby too dramatically from side to side after feedings as this sudden shift can be very overwhelming and can make them nauseous.
