Do the hand towels give out a lot of lint?
Mar 1st 2022
When you first purchase a towel it is important to wash it, one you are getting rid of unwanted factory particles and two you will reduce the amount of lint. After a few washings and dryings, you will see little to no lint come out from your hand towels. It is best to avoid using fabric softener as this will interfere with the towels performance.
Other things to consider when purchasing hand towels:
- First, consider the durability of the hand towels. Hand towels are used quite often and, essentially, should be washed frequently. This increases the potential for hand towels to wear out quickly. Choosing two-ply towels would be a good decision as they would last longer. Similarly, cotton and cotton/polyester blend might be a good bet compared to rayon. Avoiding towels to be left sitting for long in bleach would be something to take care of as too much bleach exposure makes the cotton fiber weak and thus impacts the overall life of hand towels.
- On the same note, consider the softness of the hand towels. This may seem easier than it actually is, considering that hand towels will often have a softer feel than they would after a few washes. A large proportion of manufacturers tend to coat their products with fabric softening finish that would wear off after several washes.
