Winter is the peak time for when people catch colds, and upper respiratory infections with increased time in closed quarters. Whether you are getting together with friends and family to watch a game or simply hang out, here’s how to prevent guest from getting sick.
- When serving a dish that doesn’t require utensils such as nachos for instance, instead of having a communal bowl that everyone dips from serve a side for each guest.
- If you are in fact sick or in the process of getting better, be mindful to not share drinks or food as you still might be contagious to others.
- Instead of a high-five opt for a fist bump to minimize contact and spreading of germs. This way you can still actively engage when celebrating without coming off as potentially rude.
- According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, people with the flu can remain contagious up to a week after they first experienced symptoms. Try to keep track of when you first got sick to be mindful of that window of time.
